On Air is in print

Over the New Year I got a presale copy of On Air: The Visual Messages and Global Language of MTV, a book I was invited to contribute a couple of essays for. I've finally had a chance to check it out properly.
Lovely looking book, and very tactile.

Birds: new Pleix film for 2006

Leti at Pleix just informed me about their latest film fresh for 2006. The Birds with space-age music by Vitalic.
Flying animals might be a strong trend for this year.

PSP Rutterford

Always been a big fan and supporter of Alex Rutterford (with astonishing Autechre Gantz Graf and Radiohead promo's in the bag now), so belatedly I get to see The Icon (not human or animal in form, having no set shape) for Sony PSP. Obviously I was too involved in writing the book end of last year to see this commercial on TV. Posted here for reference.

Dienstelle music video minimalism

The minimalist art/music videos by Karl Kliem under the label, Dienststelle, are some of the purist examples of the form. Clean, and fluid, they cleanse the palette after seeing too many saturated colours and choppy cuts.
I asked Karl Kliem, the director a few questions about his work.
